Anthea Penny

Anthea is a qualified health professional, an experienced Chief Executive in the New Zealand health sector; a management consultant; Director of R H Penny Ltd, Australasia; Australasian Agent for the NHS Institute of Innovation and Improvement, (Service Transformation) responsible for the NHS Institutes commercial affairs and relationships in New Zealand and Australia ; board member, Health Quality and Safety Commission of New Zealand;  a developer/facilitator of health sector leadership development both nationally and internationally. She is also the inaugural recipient of the 2004 New Zealand Institute of Health Management Silver Fern Award for Excellence in Health Service Management.

Since 1993 Anthea has also worked continuously as a management consultant, with national and regional funders and service providers of healthcare, aged care and rehabilitation in New Zealand and Australia. Her main role has been to review and improve organisational performance and to develop health policy and strategy across the service delivery spectrum.

As well, Anthea has developed and facilitated health leadership programs for senior managers and clinicians in New Zealand and Australia, organized and led International Masterclasses for senior health executives and clinicians to Europe the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Canada, and USA, Within New Zealand, Anthea has developed and facilitated short courses, modules and national forums on clinical governance and performance improvement and these have included visiting international speakers.

Anthea is a Fellow of ACHSE, a former National President of the New Zealand Institute of Health Management, has presented a number of papers at national forums and conferences, published in national and international journals and written numerous unpublished reports for the Ministry of Health, District Health Boards, the New Zealand Accident Compensation Corporation and service provider boards.

 

 
Richard Penny

Richard has a background of sales and marketing with Unilever NZ Ltd as Sales Representative, Sales Administration Manager, Regional Sales Manager and Conference Coordinator, Regional Sales Manager for Tip Top Ice Cream Co, Wellington, J Wattie Industries Ltd and National Sales Manager for Best Friend Pet Food Co. J Wattie Industries Ltd, Auckland.

He has also owned and operated The Coasters Motel, Sawtell, Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia.

He has experience in establishing databases and spreadsheets for data analysis and project work in the Health Sector, all aspects of computer use, analysing results and producing reports, preparing final reports for presentation, event management including financial management and budgeting and office management.

Some of his clients include the New Zealand Institute of Health Management, Auckland Branch, Clinical Leaders' Association of New Zealand and New Zealand Acupuncture Standards Association.

He has managed events for Hospice New Zealand, New Zealand Institute of Health Management, New Zealand Private Hospitals Association, The University of Auckland, Business School and Cashmere High School Reunion Committee.
